TKD Power™ members from all areas congregated in Dover last night (31/01/2012) for the inaugural grading examination of the newly formed Dover TKD Power™ Group, under the instruction of Mr. Matthew Godden 2nd Dan.
The examination panel consisted of Mr. Antony Panteli 6th Dan, Mr. Gareth Avenell 3rd Dan, Ms. Sue Chapman 3rd Dan and Mr. Godden, together with Miss Katie Horn 2nd Dan who conducted the proceedings.
22 students in total were testing for various colour belt (kup grade) promotions. They were required to perform all elements of the ITF syllabus, including terminology, sparring, pattern and destruction.
The examiners were pleased to note that the general standard was very high, despite a few disappointments, and awarded high level passes to Matthew Miles and Sam Wakeling who were both promoted to Green Belt (6th Kup) with merit; Manjul Pun who achieved a promotion to Yellow Belt (8th Kup) with merit; and Lewis Figes who was promoted to Yellow Tab (9th Kup) with distinction.
